Gifted Women Employer Partner
Empowering women to thrive.
Meaningful employment, being part of a team and contributing value are key factors enabling women to overcome serious hardship and realise their potential.
Despite this, it’s often the case that women experiencing multiple disadvantage are amongst the furthest from accessing the job market. With the help of socially conscious and compassionate local employers, we can close this gap and open doors for women to lead a better life.
How it works
An intensive and supportive group work programme
Through weekly group work sessions delivered by our Gifted Women practitioners, women will be learning about all aspects of employability, from recruitment to resilience in the workplace and everything in between. With a significant focus on life skills, confidence building, exploring passions and ambitions and discovering the value they have to offer - by the end of the 6 month programme, women will be ready and equipped to re-enter the workforce, or in some cases, start their first ever job..
Weekly work experience placements
After successfully completing month one of the group work programme, women are paired up with a local employer partner who offers a weekly work experience placement in their business for the duration of 8 weeks. Both parties will be supported to make this a truly valuable experience all round. Women gain invaluable experience in the role, come to know the benefits of being part of and contributing to a team and build relationships with local employers. Businesses welcome loyal and hardworking trainees and have a tangible opportunity to utilise their organisation as a force for good in the community.
1:1 mentoring
Skilled and passionate mentors support women throughout the programme and for the following 6 months while they are supported into paid employment or further education. Each woman faces specific challenges unique to them, and has individual hopes and dreams for her life - mentors are there to work alongside her as she overcomes these barriers and creates and follows a plan to achieve her ambition.
